Condolence From: Mary Cleary
Condolence: I was fortunate to have Marion Gray as my music teacher at Monroe-Woodbury Junior High School in 1975. I recall her love of music, how she shared with her classes her record albums (remember those?) of Broadway musicals--Oklahoma, The King and I, South Pacific, and many others. Such a warm, gifted woman. She made learning fun.

I caught up with Miss Gray about two years ago, finding her featured in an issue of the WAVES National newsletter. We reconnected by email and spoke on the phone, sharing news of each others lives. She was delighted to hear from a former student after so many years, to see how lives turn out. I thanked her for being such a memorable teacher. She will be remembered by many...

Condolence From: Diane Culleton
Condolence: It was with great sadness to hear of the passing of such a great lady. Marion and I spent many wonderful times at our WAVES National Unit 41 meetings and especially our trip for the dedication of the Women's Monument in Washington DC. She was so proud of her service for her country and I was honored to know her. Rest in Peace sweet Marion.

Condolence: I was fortunate to have had Miss Gray for music class at Monroe Woodbury High School as well as chorus. It was an honor for me to have sung in one of her Messiah programs. Here's to a remarkable lady and a life well lived.

Condolence: Marion was my neighbor in Port Clyde, Maine, for over thirty years. I always enjoyed walking over to visit with her and was amazed, as she grew older, how many projects and appointments she always juggled. She truly had a full life and served other people in so many ways. Rest in peace.

Condolence: Growing up in Central Valley, I have fond memories of Miss Gray. Even as a child, I was amazed at the energy and enthusiasm of this wonderful woman. I vividly recall her production of "Oklahoma", with our neighbor (and school principal) Dick Moomey, in a starring role. She was a credit not only to Monroe-Woodbury, but to life itself.

Condolence: Marion Gray was the heart of Monroe Woodbury's musical programs, from "Wizard of Oz" through all the others with which she enriched us all. For many years our family was lucky enough to know her, prior to her leaving Monroe and moving to Maine. I was so glad to read of the busy life she continued to have there.

Condolence: Marion was such an amazing woman, and she set an example of strength for ALL women. She subbed for me at Medomak Valley High School during the births of all three of my children in the early 1980s, and whipped my kids right into shape for concerts. Just one of the most amazing examples of the way I have wanted to be as a woman! She has always been an inspiration to me. She could have been President!

Condolence: Miss Gray was a great teacher and close family friend. She gave me my first bicycle. For those who do not know, she wrote the alma mater for M-W.

Condolence: I just wanted to correct my first Condolence for Miss Gray. She served in the WAVES during WWII. Initially she was turned down for being too short, however, her patriotism and determination got her in to the service. We will always remember her service to our country and the sacrifices that she endured. God Bless you Miss Gray.
