Obituary for
Jaime Melynda Lincoln
Jaime Melynda Lincoln, 39, passed away in her sleep Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2016.
Jaime was born Oct. 2, 1976, in Rockport to Mark and Peggy (Brown) Lincoln. She graduated from Medomak Valley High School in 1994.
She started helping Kelly Robbins teach swim lessons when she was 11 years old. She went on to teach swimming lessons herself for Union and Warren Rec, Beaver Lodge in Hope, and the Camden Area YMCA. She really took her time with the kids and made them feel comfortable in the water. She had a real gift with children, because Jaime was a kid at heart. She probably taught half the kids in Knox County how to swim in the '90s. She also enjoyed being in Brownies and Girl Scouts.
Jaime loved being in plays at Union Elementary, D.R. Gaul Middle School and MVHS. One of her favorite theater experiences was playing Charlotte in “Charlotte's Web,” and her Nannie had made her the spider costume. She could always be found hanging out with the other two members of the Three Musketeers, Jen Norwood and Jessica Green. Jaime had an incredible sense of humor and a huge heart.
She worked at YMCAs in Maine and Florida, where she was a Red Cross Certified First Aid Instructor and swimming instructor/trainer, as well as a lifeguard. She helped to save others, whether it was someone who had been in a car accident, or someone who would have drowned without her help. Over the years, she also worked in the grocery business, at office jobs, in advertising, and as a nanny in Florida.
Jaime was very crafty and artistic like her Nannie, learning to crochet and cook with her. She was quite talented and made beautiful scrapbooks, most recently making the “Growing Up Lincoln” series for her family. She painted and drew pictures, made bracelets and key chains from embroidery floss, created her own cards and with the gifts she gave, even the wrapping was a work of art. She would often buy others gifts just so she could wrap them. She was an avid reader and had started writing the story of her life.
She enjoyed trips to Disney with her family and planned out every second to fit in the maximum amount of fun.
She suffered serious injuries in a car crash in 2010 from which she never fully recovered. Jaime recently enjoyed working with the High Hopes Clubhouse and job rehabilitation program in Waterville. This was one of the highlights of Jaime's weeks.
Jaime really loved her family. She was predeceased by her grandparents, Lloyd and Winona Brown of South Hope, and Philip and Barbara Lincoln of Surry.
She is survived by her parents, Mark and Peggy Lincoln, of Union; her brothers, Aaron Lincoln and his partner, Rachel Nixon, of Camden, Jason and Kim Lincoln of Hope; nieces Winona Lincoln, Amelia Lincoln, Kaley Lincoln; and nephew Lochlin Recht. She also is survived by her special friend, Eddie Sincyr, of Madison.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, Aug. 20, at 4 p.m. at Hall Funeral Home, 949 Main St., Waldoboro. A gathering of family and friends will take place after the service at the Masonic Hall in Waldoboro.
Those wishing to make donations in Jaime's honor, may send them to High Hopes Clubhouse, 26 College Ave., Waterville, ME 04901.
Arangements are entrusted to Hall's of Waldoboro, 949 Main Street, Waldoboro, Maine. You can share condolences at www.hallfuneralhomes.com
