John Clifford Laird
John “Jack” C. Laird, 79, died May 24, 2015 in the Gregory Wing of St. Andrews Village in Boothbay Harbor. He was born February 1, 1936 to John and Florence (Brown) Laird. He grew up in Saco and graduated from Thornton Academy. He attended S.M.V.T.I. in South Portland. Jack served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.
He worked as a Oceanographic Marine Tech at Woods Hole, MA., and for Bigelow Labs in Florida,Massachusetts and Maine for 28 years. He was predeceased by his wife, Mary (Kearney) Laird.
He is survived by a daughter, Stacy McLellan and her husband Jeremy of Boothbay, granddaughters, Jordan Barter of Boothbay,Madeleine McLellan of Boothbay, and sister, Rosemary Marston of Billerica,MA
A graveside service to celebrate Jack’s life will be held 4 p.m. Friday, May 29th at the Decker Cemetery on Southport. Please join the family after the graveside at China By The Sea from 5 to 7 p.m. to continue the celebration of Jack’s life.
