Obituary for Lois A Thomas

Lois A Thomas
Lois A. Thomas, 77, passed away peacefully at her home in Waldoboro on Thursday March 20, 2014 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on June 14, 1936 in Squirrel Hill, PA., a suburb of Pittsburgh, to Reed and Henrietta Warner Jeffreys. Growing up in Pennsylvania, she attended local schools and went on to attend Indiana University Pennsylvania where she would graduate with a bachelor’s degree in Music Education.

She was a talented musician and teacher and used her talents to the fullest. Her talents reached across many genres. She was a vocalist, an award winning actress with her community theater company, choreographer, costume designer, a swimming instructor, and a camp counselor just to name a few. She loved to stay busy and enjoyed sharing her gifts for quilting, needlework and crafts with the people around her.

An animal lover, Lois was a big fan of the Collie breed and was the proud owner of several. She loved to travel and one of her favorite destinations was Yellow Stone National Park. Lois enjoyed being outdoors at her home and was often found feeding the birds and working in her gardens. In the summer months, she delighted in the annual loon count and swimming in her pond. She had a smile that could fill up a room and will leave behind a hole in the hearts of all that knew and loved her.

She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years Gene Thomas of Waldoboro, ME

Three Children Mark Thomas

Kimberly Polasek and her husband Bruce

Kelly Maris and her husband Tim
