Obituary for Dorothy Vogel
Dorothy M. Vogel, 86, of Washington, passed away on August 20, 2019 at Miles Memorial Hospital in Damariscotta with her family by her side. Dorothy was born on February 12, 1933, daughter of Charles Mitchell and Mary Puzzak Mitchell in Norwalk, Connecticut.
She attended local schools in Westport, Connecticut and graduated from nursing school at UConn. She attended grade school with her husband-to-be. Before her retirement she was a charge nurse at Carolton Chronic Care and Convalescent Center.
Dorothy enjoyed choral singing, knitting, crocheting, nursing and breeding Bichon Frise dogs. She was a member of the Fairfield County Chorale.
Dorothy was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and a very compassionate and dedicated nurse.
She is predeceased by her parents, Charles and Mary Mitchell.
Dorothy is survived by her husband of 65 years, Donald E. Vogel, Sr. of Washington, her son and devoted caregiver, Donald E. Vogel, Jr. of Washington, daughters, Lynn A. Vogel of Trumbull, CT, Suzanne M. Carey and husband Michael of Bridgeport, CT, son, David W. Vogel of Trumbull, CT, granddaughter Audrey Grace Vogel of New York, NY and grandson Shaun M. Carey of Bridgeport, CT.
A graveside service will be held for Dorothy at the Marr Cemetery, Razorville Road in Washington, on Friday, August 23, 2019 at 1:00 p.m.
