Obituary for James M. Glenn

James Maddocks Glenn, 73 of Thomaston, ME died at Maine Medical Center in Portland, ME, Tuesday, March 19, 2019 surrounded by loving family.

Born in Attleboro, MA., son to the late James & Rachel Glenn (Maddocks.) He was predeceased by his wife, Carolyn Glenn (Svoboda.) Jim is survived by his son Stephen Glenn of Simsbury, CT, daughter and son-in-law Rachel and Tim Gorecki and their sons Gavin and Kip, of West Simsbury, CT, sister, Martha Varsano of Thomaston, ME, sister and brother-in-law MaryBeth and George Marsh of Chagrin Falls, OH, and seven nieces and nephews.

He served in the U.S. Navy in Vietnam and went on to become an architect. He and his wife raised their family in Pittsburgh, PA and Simsbury, CT, eventually retiring in Thomaston, ME. Jim had a love for spending time with his two grandsons, traveling with his family and friends and a good Manhattan.

A gathering for family and friends will be held at a later date in both Thomaston, ME and Pittsburgh, PA. A burial service will be held at the Hallowell Cemetery this summer. Arrangements are entrusted to Hall Funeral Home, 78 Main St. Thomaston, ME.
