Print
Donna R. Bond, 82, passed away November 24th at the Sussman House in Rockport. Donna was born September 29, 1936 in Rockland, Maine the daughter of George William Rogers and Annie (Overlock) Rogers.

Donna attended Thomaston High School and then continued her education at Westbrook Junior College where she studied business. On July 8, 1956 Donna married Ellis Addison Bond of Jefferson.

Donna worked alongside her husband Ellis running Bond Brothers Grocery store until the sale in 1987, at which point she began her retirement. Donna took great passion in serving the needs of others in her community. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Jefferson and spent many years of organizing and hosting suppers to help raise money to support the church. She was active in the Ladie’s Aid helping to organize many catering functions for the church. Donna also volunteered at the Jefferson Food Bank from the 1990’s until 2016. Donna enjoyed decorating for each holiday and loved to cook, always experimenting with new recipes. She will be remembered for her fabulous pies which began with her selling them at the grocery store when she was in her early 20’s.

Donna is survived by her husband, Ellis of 62 years, one son Scott Bond and his wife Dianne Shostak of Jefferson, one daughter Stacy Morin and her husband David Morin of Jefferson, four grandchildren, Austin Bond of Jefferson, Addison Cox and his wife Lea of Warren, Meryl Bond and her fiancé Jordan Grady of Whitefield and Avery Bond of Jefferson, two great grandchildren, Elena Cox and Sawyer Cox of Warren.
