Obituary for David D. Wellman

David D. Wellman, 66, died unexpectedly on January 8, 2018 at Lincoln Health – Miles Campus. David was born in Damariscotta, Maine to James and Virginia (Creamer) Wellman. He grew up in Waldoboro and attended local schools. He joined the Army and was stationed in Germany.

David held many jobs over the years including at Medomak Canning Factory in Waldoboro. He worked as a truck driver at Hunt Brothers Lumber and Marriner’s Lumber, He drove a delivery truck for Ralph York and drove for Round Top Ice Cream He later worked for Nancy Freeman and Edmund Darrows at the Round Top Center for the Arts for 25 years. He also started his own lawn care business and did odd jobs. He was an honest, hard working, family oriented man. He considered work as a hobby.

He was predeceased by his parents and brother, Henry J. Wellman and Uncle Charles Wellman along with nephew Jacob Daigle and close friend Aaron Chancellor.

He is survived by his daughter, Crystal Wellman of Wiscasset son, Jason Wellman and fiancé Brandi Bryant, of Bremen, grandchildren Hunter Wellman and Braelyn Wellman of Bremen, and Iyanla Chancellor of Wiscasset, brother, Gary Wellman of Waldoboro, special niece Desiree Nichols of Nobleboro, cousins Clint Collamore of Waldoboro and Gilbert Collamore of Bremen.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, January 18, 2018 from 5-7 p.m. at Hall Funeral Home, 949 Main Street, Waldoboro. A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 19, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Hall Funeral Home in Waldoboro, with Pastor Tom Rawley officiating. Burial will be in the Hillside Cemetery in the spring.
