Obituary for Angela Knight

Angela Knight
November 19th, 1967, Camden Maine welcomed a baby girl who would soon become a staple in many peoples’ lives.

Angela Lynn Knight came into this world with many gifts. She graced everyone with her contagious laugh, one-of-a-kind character, and her astonishing beauty, both inside and out, which left even passing strangers in awe. Her most phenomenal gift however, was her ability to see the good in everyone.

Angela had few memories from her younger years, but she treasured and shared the ones she had. Her earliest memory was from her eighth birthday, when her father gave her her first bicycle. She was so tickled having grown up far from wealthy. But her life was wealthy with happiness and love. Angela’s other favorite memory from her childhood, which she shared often with multiple people, was of her great grandmother. As Angela would tell it, she would sit in her great grandmothers lap, and lightly trace her fingers over her soft, peach fuzz covered arms. It was one of her comforts.

Angela grew up primarily in the Warren/Union area, but spent a short while growing up in West Virginia. She attended high school at Medomak Valley, graduating in 1986, and furthered her education later on in life after a career change.

Angela’s first job was through a co-op program in high school where half the day she spent at school and the other was spent in the work force earning high school credit. At this time, she worked at Gordon’s Market in Union. Her first actual job was at Four Corner Variety in Union. Down the road in Angela’s life she found herself very pleased with her career working for Van Baalen/Nautica. Her career with them only ended when they relocated to another state. When she started the hunt for a new career path, she expressed an interest in cosmetology. She began school at Capilo’s in Augusta. She would put her daughter on the school bus in Warren, drive herself to Augusta to be in school herself, and get home to get her daughter back off the bus. She spent many nights up late studying and working her very hardest to do the best she could within this career. When she graduated from cosmetology school she worked in a hand full of salons before settling into her teaching career. Angela became an instructor of cosmetology at Capilo’s, now known as Aveda Institute. She touched many lives in this line of work, from other teachers, to students, and even the parents of students. But, in Angela’s own words, her most important job was being a mother.

July 12th, 2017 was one of the hardest days for many, many people. It was the absolute hardest day of Angela’s daughter Lillian’s life. Her beautiful mother was taken from herself, her family, and her friends far too soon at only 49 years young. But July 12th, around 4:45 PM, Lillian believes her mother got something beautiful; to be reconnected with the love of her life, her father. Hugh Ellis Knight was also taken far too soon back in 2006. Loosing Hugh was Angela’s absolute worst day. But her personality survived to touch the lives of many more people happily.

Friends and family of Angela are invited to a gathering in her honor on Sunday, July 30, 2017 to be held at the Union Masonic Lodge #31, 149 Sennebec Road in Union, Maine. From 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. will be time to mourn, followed by light refreshments, and then a time to share and celebrate Angela’s beautiful life. Pictures and fond memories are strongly encouraged to be brought and shared.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to a Go Fund Me Account “Help Lillian Thru Her Mother’s Death”, http://gofundme.com/help-lillian-thru-her-mothers-death, to help her 19 year old daughter, Lillian Moody, with expenses.

Hall's of Waldoboro has care of the arrangements. To extend online condolences to the family please visit www.hallfuneralhomes.com.
