Obituary for Stuart Nash

Stuart Nash
Stuart Paul Nash, 52, beloved son, father, brother and grandfather, passed away Thursday, May 19, 2016, surrounded by loved ones from a courageous 10 month battle with a rare brain tumor. He was born September 26, 1963 in Rockland, the youngest child of William and Phyllis (Studley) Nash.

Stuart attended local schools and graduated from Medomak Valley High School in 1981. He played baseball from Little League through high school, mainly pitching or catching.

Stuart was a many of many talents. He worked at GTE Sylvania in Waldoboro for over 10 years as a production mechanic/group leader. He worked in various welding and fabrication shops throughout the area, and did many welding jobs for the local fishermen. He was a lobsterman and shellfish harvester, automotive mechanic, and was a gifted metalwork artist, with pieces now residing as far away as Japan. Always eager to learn and to do something new, medical problems prohibited him from reaching many of his goals.

His sons have many fond memories of working beside their father building hot rods, metal structures and tinkering on anything with a motor.

Stuart was predeceased by his wife Gloria Mank Nash. He is survived by his parents of Waldoboro, sons Justin Nash and his wife Marissa of Bristol and Jason Nash of Bremen, sister Lori O’Quinn and her husband Kenneth of Cape Elizabeth, brother Gregory Nash and his wife Tina of Madison, Ohio and grandchildren Aubriana, Ayla, Liam, and Jovi, all of Bristol, his longtime companion, Michelle Heflin and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

A private family service to celebrate Stuart’s life will be held on Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at Hillside Cemetery in Bremen with Pastor Tom Rawley officiating.

Hall’s of Waldoboro has care of the arrangements. To extend online condolences, light a candle in Stuart’s memory, or to share a story or picture, please visit his Book of Memories at www.hallfuneralhomes.com
