Obituary for Richard "Ricky" Young

Richard "Ricky"  Young
Richard “Rick” Young passed away peacefully on August 25, 2014 at Penbay Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. He was born on July 28, 1958 the son of the late Wendall and Joanne (Vinal) Young.
Rick would grow up in Cushing and attended local schools and then went on to Thomaston High School. After high school Rick went on to a career in commercial fishing. Rick loved being on the water he would spend his younger years on a scallop boat before going on to buying his own lobster boat the F/V “In the Red” where he would continue his career.
Rick was never one to stay still he was always busy. He could be found cutting wood, or working on his gear, painting buoys you name it his was doing it. He was a hard worker and it showed.
Rick enjoyed raising pigs and did this for many years. He always loved to watch the pig scramble at the Union Fair and could be found there every year. Rick enjoyed being outside hunting, and fishing. HE also loved to travel and was lucky enough to travel to such places as Hawaii and Jamaica as well as many trips to Florida in the winter time.

A time of visitation will be held on Tuesday September 9th from 6 to 8 in the Evening with a prayer service to begin at 7:30 officiated by Pastor Wayne Sawyer at Hall Funeral Home Thomaston 78 Main St Thomaston, ME 04861
